street improvements to shaw road

A local Heaton Moor resident and urban designer Nick Atherton, is seeing his vision to pedestrianise Shaw Road brought to life. In partnership with the Four Heatons Traders Association, Nick has obtained funding by Stockport SMBC to redesign the carriageway on Shaw Road, enhancing the appeal of existing shops and cafés. The project will produce wider pavements which will create a move liveable and inviting street environment.

In SK4, 70.0% of the local workforce travel less than 10km to get to work. This is 7.7% higher than the average in the North West region and 13.1% higher than the national average.

Actor Tribe is a new acting school which aims to provide a platform and freedom, for students to potentially start working in the business as professional actors.

Based in Heaton Mersey, the acting school is headed up by husband and wife duo Lee Boardman and Jennifer James. Having grown up in Reddish, Lee knows The Heatons well and is very excited to work with local talent. Inviting people young and old, acting master classes are now available for people to register their place.

sales remain steady in sk4

The changes in stamp duty and the Brexit vote have made the last 12 months an interesting one. There have been a total of 864 sales and we can see that volumes have increased by 19.3% since July 2015. This is stronger than the North West region and the national market.

Over the last year, every property that was sold in SK4 has fallen into one of seven price bands. The adjacent bar chart illustrates this interesting pattern which shows that the £100k-£200k price band had the largest number of sales (234), followed by the £200k-£300k price band (199).
